Going the Extra Step for Foster Kids
Everyone deserves to feel the joy that comes from a new pair of shoes. Thanks to our partnership with Ticket to Dream, we are helping foster kids experience that new-shoe-feeling, too.
Ticket to Dream is dedicated to providing hope and opportunity for foster kids across the nation, so they can just be kids. Together with businesses and community members Ticket to Dream has provided over 4.2 million foster children with everyday essentials like properly fitting shoes, clothing, school supplies, laptops, even access to extracurriculars and aging out of care support to reduce homelessness. Ticket to Dream partners with over 200 non-profit foster care partners, reaching over 250,000 foster children across all 50 states, to help foster kids quickly and efficiently in our communities.
Thanks to your generosity, Famous Footwear has donated over $12 million to Ticket to Dream to make a difference in so many foster kids’ lives.
TICKET TO DREAM'S PROGRAMS:
ALLY FOR KIDS
Ticket to Dream is an ally to those in foster care who are often overrepresented and underserved. The Ally Program provides targeted support to meet the unique needs of Hispanic, Black and LGBTQ+ foster youth.
DISASTER RELIEF
In times of natural disaster or crisis, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Disaster Relief program provides rapid support to keep foster kids safe and reduce trauma.
ESSENTIALS FOR FOSTER KIDS
Ticket to Dream collects product donations that allow foster youth to have the everyday items they need while also boosting their self-esteem and ability to fit in with their peers.
TAKE FLIGHT
Through Ticket to Dream’s Take Flight program, the goal is to empower foster youth for the future, particularly preparing youth prior to and while aging out of care.
GOPLAY!
Ticket to Dream’s GoPlay! Program brings joy and normal childhood experiences to foster youth across the nation by providing access to extracurricular activities.
LAPTOPS FOR SUCCESS
With the Laptops for Success program Ticket to Dream provides thousands of laptops to school aged and college attending foster youth to ensure they can keep up in the classroom and participate in online learning.
