Rated 5 out of 5 by Farva37 Solid shoes I recently purchased these for work on a recommendation of a friend. They've held up well, offer good support and are great for a long day on your feet. May 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dock33 A Great Shoe This is my favorite of the New Balance Trail Shoes. They accept orthonics, fit true to size, are lightweight, stylish (can be worn to work) and most of all they are very comfortable. I would definitely recommend these sneakers to all and would love to have another pair. April 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Dynamicbrakeman Love the D-ring eyelets which are no more I like shoes that have the D-ring eyelets and my current model of these New Balance 481 Black/Gray trail runners had them for the middle two rows of lacing eyelets. The D-rings let the laces slide through so much easier, so it's easy to get the lacing snug all along the top of the foot and not just at the top few lacing holes. Without the D-rings if you want a snug feel all along the top of the foot, you have to start at the bottom row of holes and then keep snugging up the lacing at each level until you get to the top and tie them. With the D-rings one or two pulls at the top D-ring row snugs everything right up away and I am off and running out the door on my way to work in an instant. The shoes I have were bought at the end of February 2014 and have lasted until today, April 23, 2015. Today the sole has started to separate from the toe of the right shoe and completely separated from the toe of the left one. This is with every day use for work, travel, and around the house. I consider that a good value.Problems, minor: 1. The laces provided with the shoes were too long -- I had to double tie them. 2. The decorative sheathing on the outside of the laces abrades and breaks apart after about 6 months, exposing the inner strands of the lace to abrasion so the lace soon fails. 3. On the left shoe, the rubber striping which outlines and forms the letter " N " in the instep side of the shoe started peeling off at about 7 monthsThey could be a little more breathable but are tolerable. When I bought them at the store I had to try on a second pair (in my 2nd choice color) as the heel on one shoe of the initial pair was molded on crooked and introduced an over-pronation into the fit.The current version of the shoe lacks the D-rings but does have rectangular slots that I hope let the laces slide and adjust quickly so I can on to work on time everyday.
