Joni asked: Are these shoes good for wide feet , also spending long hours in them?

    • Dawn: "My 15 year old daughter says she wears them at school and then for tennis practice and her feet feel fine in these shoes. 6:30 am to 5 PM As for the wide daughter can wear shoes that are wide and shoes that are not wide. But, she really likes the shoes and they are comfortable for her."
    • Fern: "Yes they are wide. In fact, mine are still in the box as I cannot wear them."
    • Esther: "They come in wide sizes and standard width. I think they are very comfortable to wear all day. I wore them on my family trip to Yellowstone this summer and walked in them for a week straight. Never had blisters or sore feet. My daughter was so impressed she bought herself a pair right there in the park to hike around in."
    • Nancy: "Hi Joni, Yes, these are good for wide feet, as long as you purchase the wide version. I bought a pair and loved them so much I bought another pair for my daughter, who also has wide feet. She loves hers too! I wear mine all day (I'm standing almost the whole time) and my feet don't hurt like they do with my other shoes. I don't recommend using them like walking shoes though. There isn't much for shock absorption. I sure wish Dr. Scholl's made the other colors in wide too. I'd buy a bunch!"
    • Jackie: "These shoes I took back because they were not a good fit. I have a different style of Dr. Scholl's shoes in a 8 wide and they are great. These were not wide enough for me. And my feet aren't even that wide."
    • Katie: "i returned this shoe. I thought it actually laced up but it doesn't, it's a slip on. I couldn't get my foot in it."
    • Richard: "They are quite good for wide feet and were true to size for me. I have not worn them for many hours at a time yet but they seem like they would be ok unless you would be standing for a long time. Hope this helps!"
    • Lili: "They are great if your feet are wide "

sandy asked: looking for a shoe that supports the metatarsal area, stand on feet long hours and my feet ache in this area,do these shoes have good support?

    • Sally: "I don't know about standing all day. I can wear these out and about all day and don't have a problem with any of the many Dr.Scholls in the styles Jennie or Jamie that I have purchased. They are wonderful - the only ones I wear since I bought my first pair."
    • Nila: "I ended up giving these away to the thrift shop so I can't go back to them and check the metatarsal support for you. My main issue was with the design of the heel. As you can see from the photo, the bottom of the heel is rounded on the sides. I found the heel stability and shock absorption inadequate for that reason. They were very uncomfortable for walking outdoors even for a short distance on the sidewalk, for example, and my feet became very fatigued in a short time. I doubt you would find them comfortable to stand on for long hours. Too bad--they're definitely very cute-looking."
    • Roxann: "Very comfortable show.. On my feet for hours and felt like I had slippers on"
    • Linda: "There is a removable layer in the bottom of these shoes that gives arch support. If you have an orthotic that you insert into other shoes and if this doesn't give enough support to your foot, you could easily remove it and add your own. I find these ridiculously comfortable and have worn them all day with no issues. I usually have to use inserts in things like my mocassins, but not with these."

Lori asked: Are these lace up or slip on? What about the Jamie style? Are they lace up or slip on?

    • Angela: "These shoes are slip on - they have a stretchy back to pull over your heal - they do have laces, which I tuck into the shoes before I slip them on."
    • Debbie: "They are lace up but you can slip them on once they are laced."
    • Joy: "These are slip ons. The lace up is just for a more comfortable fit. I LOVE these shoes!"
    • Sally: "All Jamie and Jennie are slip on and they also have ties to adjust the fit. I have approx. 12 prs. and just ordered 2 more. If I find the area where you slip on a little too big I just throw them in the washer - 30 min. in dryer and they are perfect. Hope you enjoy as much as I do."
    • Juanita: "The Jennie's were slip on. They were really cute but I returned cause they hard to get a sock on with it. I do no know about the Jamie's"
    • Jennifer: "They are lace up, but they are one piece, as in no tongue. So I leave mine tied and can slip on and off. "
    • Diana: "They are slip-on , but have look of laces. The laces can be used for a tighter/looser fit though. Hope that helps."
    • Evelyn: "Lori, The Jennie's are slip-ons, but the laces tie as well. I believe the Jamie's are just slip-ons, but not 100% sure on that...I love mine...They slip on and look like a tennis shoe...and very comfortable. Hope this helps..."
    • Kathy: "They are slip on, but do have ties that are basically just for looks."
    • Aimee: "I consider them slip on. They're one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned."
    • Aimee: "I consider them slip on. They're one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned."
    • Gloria: "They are slip on and fit nice and snug without pinching or cutting off circulation to the foot."
    • Karen: "You slip them on then tie the laces."
    • Martha: "I have these shoes and they are lace up. The pair of Jamie style that I have are also lace up. Both pairs are extremely comfortable. I spend a lot of time walking at work and my feet never hurt in these shoes"
    • Michelle: "The Jennie shoes are slip on. The laces are faux laces for the lace up look, but there underlying structure is slip on."
    • MaryElizabeth: "Lace up"
    • Linda: "The laces can be untied and then retied to make the shoe a more comfortable fit to your foot (I did this the first time I wore them), but the topline of the shoe stretches making it easy to slip on and off."
    • Erin: "Both. They are slip on's, but they lace up the same as usual."

Chris asked: Does this shoe have a comfortable arch for people with foot problems?

    • Beth: "I like my shoes with a high arch. I prefer brands like Skechers and Nike and I do like the support these shoes give. The insoles are bumpy so they took some getting use to. If you look at the bottom the sole does not cover the whole bottom of the shoe. Walking in them felt weird at first but I got used to it and found them very comfortable. I work with small children all day and so am very active and my feet weren't sore at the end of the day."
    • Barbara: "The shoes are really cute so that is why I bought so many. I wear them for style more than great arch support. They do have a Dr. Scholl's insert and they feel good on but if I was standing all day or working out I would get an athletic shoe like New Balance, Reebok or Nike. You could take out the Dr. Scholl's insert and replace it with another insert. The shoe insert slips out real easy. I would buy the shoe a half size bigger if you use a medical insert.the shoe is well made and fun to wear."
    • Joann: "This shoe has a nice medium arch support. The heel and toe are a little rounded for a comfortable easy gait."
    • Linda: "Yes. There is a removable insert in the shoe that makes them very comfortable to wear with or without socks."
    • Kerri: "The arch is not high in this shoe like Berkenstock shoes. It does give support, has a wide footbed and super cushioned to stand and walk in all day! I love them!"
    • Kristen: "They're comfortable, but don't really have much for arch support. I have problems with my foot/leg and my physical therapist says these are not gonna' cut it- I have to go and find some really good running shoes/trainers. (in conclusion- if you're looking for something that will specifically be helpful for your arch- then no. But just to walk around in, they don't bother me, even with my flat/broken feet!)"
    • Lili: "I can only vouch for their super comfort my feet are wide so love them this is my 2nd pair! "
    • Sallie: "It has a small arch. I have plantar fasciitis and its a perfect comfy shoe and I'm on my feet all day 6 days a week. I have 3 pair in different colors. "
    • Judy: "Yes, it has a good arch and the shape of the shoe makes walking comfortable."
    • Martha: "Yes, the shoes are so comfortable that I bought two more pairs. The first couple of times you wear them the arch support feels different. However after wearing them all day long and doing quite a bit of walking my feet feel great. No aching or swelling."
    • Cara: "Yes"

jane asked: Do they have a little lift/heel height (heel slightly higher than forefoot), completely flat, or like an earth shoe (where the forefoot is a little higher than the heel)? I prefer the former, where the heel is a little higher that the forefoot.

    • Leslie: "Completely flat with a nice comfy feel."
    • Linda: "i have to say that they feel exactly even to me. The front or back doesn't feel any higher than the other but I will definitely say that they are my favorite pair of shoes because of how comfortable they are. I wish I had these shoes to wear when I went to Italy and did so much walking. Sorry, that I didn't respond sooner."
    • Dolores: "Hi Jane, sorry but they are not slightly higher than the forefoot. They are comfortable though. I have gotten a lot of compliments on these shoes."
    • jane: "Thank you all. Your responses are very helpful."
    • B: "Hey are not completely flat like the converse fishead shoes and they are not hard but have much more padding. I guess you could say the heel is a bit higher than the fore foot but not by a great deal. I love them."
    • Dawn: "More like an earth shoe fit, which I normally don't like, but these are pretty comfy. I found I can stand/walk a little longer with these vs. my other casual shoes or sneakers. They look cute too!"
    • Linda: "There is no difference in the height across the length of the shoe. The sole of the shoe has in interesting shape that feels strange when you first wear them, but makes them very comfortable to walk in. The insole cushion and shape of the show also fits closely to the shape of my foot. It's almost like I'm walking bare foot."
    • P: "The fit is similar to the earth shoe, but not as dramatic. I haven't worn them other than to test the fit, but they seem comfortable."
    • Brandon: "The heel is slightly higher, but I wouldn't even call it noticeably so. I've found that Dr. Sholl's Custome Gel pads can really achieve that "perfect fit." Now they also offer Dr. Sholl's for women (support for heels.) So, are you gellin yet? "
    • Heather: "Yes, there is a little lift but not much. I am actually wearing mine right now. Mine are gray and pink and white. They are my go-to running around shoes. I also have a black and white check pair. Those are ribbed in the shoe interior. I like them, too, but prefer the smoith on the inside ones."
