We let them choose what they wanted but I suggested they look at ASIC because I had come to like their gel insert foot bed and firm rugged construction.These did not disappoint. This is my 4th pair, and their durability is unsurpassed for a shoe in this price range. I particularly like the design of the toe, which prevents holes developing from friction with your big toe. (He never unties them, just slides them on and off, and they still hold up well). This is the third pair of these same shoes that he has had. The Asics hold up very well, especially when compared to other brands we have tried.
