FamousFootwear.com asked: Why did you choose this?
- Melissa: "I chose these to withstand weather conditions, rain or snow...for hiking in cold conditions but still able to wear in every day situations"
Mary asked: Can you tighten the bungee cord at all?
- Cheryl: "Yes you can tighten them. They are not actually bungee cords, they are the shoe laces. I have to say I really like these boots. "
- Meagan: "Yes you can. The bungee cords actually have to be tied like shoelaces."
- Rachel: "Yes it ties. "
- Cyndi: "Mine do not have bungee- they are laces."
Lee asked: what temperature rating are these rated for? How much do they weigh? They say they are light weight so I was wondering if you knew?
- Melissa: "I believe they are for 32 and below...there was a tag on them when they came but I cannot remember exactly(though I don't remember it saying so anywhere else?)...they ARE fairly lightweight though...they feel a bit snug though and I ordered a half size bigger than i would normally(mostly in response to reviews i read) But to be honest, I have not had a chance to wear them in any real wet conditions or cold...so I couldn't tell you for sure how well they perform. I am still undecided on whether they are a good buy for that reason. Hope that helps."
- Sebastian: "Hi Lee, I have not used them in very low temperatures, I can tell I have weared them while 19 F, and still warm....so Im pretty sure can works on lower temperatures. They are so light, weight is almost nothing to be boots, my scale does not show any number when put them on top. So I guess is less than 2 lbs both of them together. I really like them, so I do recommend them. Good luck!"
- Laura: "I bought these for myself and loved them so much I bought them for my daughter. They are lighter than a pair of sneakers and they are very warm. We are outdoor snow enthusiasts (skiing, snowmobiling, etc.) And these keep our feet warm. I think they are rated for -30?."
- Wendy: "I don't know the temperature rating. They do keep my feet warm when I'm out in the snow, but we haven't had any really cold weather. They are light weight, approx 8 oz.. and very comfortable."
- Constance: "I live in Minnesota and am wearing these boots for the 2nd winter. I LOVE them. They fit cozily and are light (I wear a size 10 and they are still lightweight!). I think one day last January I wore them in 10 degree weather and it took about 3-4 hours for my feet to get cold. Check the Columbia website, it might show specific temperature ratings."
- Carol: "The temperature rating is -32 C or -25 F. They are very lightweight. I would guess about 1.5 lbs total weight (both boots). Each boots feels lighter than a pound, for sure. I haven't worn them yet, but they feel very comfortable and warm. I would also recommend ordering at least a half size larger than you would normally wear for boots. I wear a size 7 shoe and usually buy boots and sneakers in a 7.5, but for these I got an 8 and they just fit. For colder temps, where you need really thick socks, I would go a full size larger (in my case a 8.5)"

- Emily (staff): "Hi Lee, These boots are temperature rated: 200 grams of insulation, rated -25F/-32C, to keep your feet warm during those cold winters. They weigh approximately 15 oz. Thank you, FamousFootwear.com"
