Hi-Tec Men's Bandera Medium/Wide Mid Top Waterproof Hiking Boot Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 43reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Comfort? Yes. Waterproof? Not even a little. I've been wearing these boots pretty regularly for about two months. The comfort level is quite high; especially right out of the box, there was really no break in period. The materials seem strong, I've seen no wear to speak of. The laces are not good. Or at least they are not good for this boot. They shred where they contact the upper hook very quickly. My biggest complaint, and the reason I am on this web-site, is the waterproofing. I went hunting down an old road. This road was not overgrown and there was very little grass. It was raining. It took less than an hour for my feet to be COMPLETELY soaked. Now, I wasn't expecting to have dry feet after walking through a creek, or trudging through knee high grass all day, but I've had old tennis shoes with better waterproofing than this. Very disappointing. November 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by solid shoe. Nice price. Hi Tec had always been a dependable brand for our family. I got these hikers for my teenager. They wear well-- really well-- nice mileage for constant use!, They offer support and good traction. These wides were an awesome find. Hi Tec tends to run a bit narrow. October 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Trail Boot! I received these boots as a gift around a year ago. Just got to use them this past Saturday for a 5.5 mile hike through the Three Lakes WMA in Florida (part of the Florida Trail). I thought they were very comfortable and I had no size difference issues that I have been reading about on the internet (same size as my pair of sneakers). I was able to wear padded hiking socks in comfort as well. I can't comment on the water proofing of these boots since I wasn't walking in ankle deep muck or water but I did walk in about two inches of water and there was a lot of dew on the grasses I was walking through, feet were as dry as when I put the boots on before the hike. I did get one small blister but that was due to just putting the boots on, hiking without any break-in time, carrying a twenty pound pack, plus I haven't hiked in around 15 years (much, much better than my old military issued jungle boots from when I hiked all the time, plagued with blisters). The boots look good and the construction seems well done also. Very impressed with these boots. I plan on getting another pair in the olive color and would like to see them offered in camouflage as well. Nicely made boot. I wear a regular size 7.5 boot and shoe. Thanks for making my feet, well, happy feet. October 27, 2015
