This shoe, Assist XT2, is the only shoe available for my needs that I can locate in the Ryka product line. MY aging feet of 52 years also get the proper support for aging feet and I can walk for miles."

Apparently ship to home from the store doesn't apply to clearance items. The shoe fit well even in the wrong size. It's very comfortable and so light weight. I think they will be great for my workouts."
  • Linda: "Had these before and loved them! Great shoe with great support."

Rachel asked: Hi - are these shoes for cross-training, such as Zumba or classes that mix cardio with strength training? Would they also work for running (not extreme distances, most just light running). The writeup says they're good for pronation control which is a plus for me since I overpronate.

  • Susan: "Yes, I think they would work for light running. I use them for exercising and fast walking but I'm sure they would be fine for light running."
  • victoria: "I bought these for my sister and she loved them. Very comfortable ... walked all over Disney for 3 days and no complaints. She said that she would do Zumba in them and run in them as well (she is not a long distance runner either). Hope this helps."
  • Sheila: "I have only use mine for everday wear, and walking, so I cannot attest to how they stand up to more rigorous activitly. I too have issues with protation, and really no athletic shoe I have ever purchased has worked well with that issue."
  • Cynthia: "These shoes are great for all around use. They do have a tread on the sole, so I would think they are not the best pick for Zumba, but I have used them for all my classes. They are very comfortable and have a wide toe bed. I do not run myself, but I think they would work for short distance running. They are fairly flexible, much more than a walking shoe."
  • Liz: "I bought theses shoes for an insanity class because the current shoes I had were for running and hurt the sides of my feet. These worked much better! The Ryka's are cross trainers. It's unfortunate, but now I would buy "running shoes" for running and "cross trainers" for where you would be doing a lot of movement in different angles (not just moving forward like running). For Zumba you could wear the Ryka's, but shoes meant for Zumba or dance work better because they have a round surface on the bottom for rotating/twisting movements. I had a lot of knee pain with regular tennis shoes. My favorite shoes for Zumba are Bloch Lightning shoes. They are in fun colors, fit snugly, and I no longer have knee pain. If you just want one pair of shoes for cross training and Zumba, you'd be fine starting out with these Rykas. I had heard good things about the shoes and I do really like them. I would get them again. "
  • Linda: "I bought these for my daughter as running shoes. She loves the color but says they need to be broken in, gave her blisters. I was a little disappointed to hear that because I have two pairs of other Ryka's & they were so comfy from the start. Don't know if this helps."
  • Denise: "I am not a runner so can't really answer your question accurately. They are very comfortable and good for walking."
  • Antoinette: "Hi Rachel, I am not a runner, but I use them all day when I volunteer at a local hospital. I walk miles some days on hard concrete floors. I have arthritis in both ankles and they seem to offer me enough support, and comfort to walk in them all day. Hope that helps a little."

  • Jen: "No, I don't believe they are...but still very comfortable."
  • Paula: "No mostly a mesh fabric - the stripes/banding have a plastic feel - but I must say, are one of the most comfortable athletic shoes I've had in a long time - well cushioned compared to most. Hope that helps!"
  • Sharon: "No their a breathable material keep your feet cool"
  • barbara: "No, they are not leather, they are fabric mesh. They are about 1/2 size larger than your regular shoe size."
  • Sharla: "Only around the laces and what looks like a web. They are mostly mesh on the sides and toes."
