Find out why this hot fitness phenomenon is sweeping the nation

Looking for a workout that offers maximum results in a short period of time? Yeah, duh. Who isn’t? That is why CrossFit is so successful-the program is all you need. CrossFit consists of constantly varied, functional movements (like squats and push-ups) at a high-intensity. These functional movements are natural and a part of our everyday lives (like sitting, standing and lifting objects). CrossFit’s training is designed not only to improve health but also to increase longevity, and, of course, to have fun!

A CrossFit gym (or Box, as they’re called) is usually a fairly bare bones facility with basic equipment such as weight sets, pull-up bars, ropes, rings, kettlebells, medicine balls, rowing machines and jump ropes. The majority of the program is just that—the program itself—along with the CrossFit coaches, who teach movements, coach form and inspire CrossFitters to push themselves to be their best.

Reebok identified CrossFit as one of the fastest growing, most cutting-edge fitness movements, and recognized a shared passion for fitness and training. At the beginning of 2011, Reebok’s Global Campus in Canton, MA, opened a World-Class CrossFit Box known as Reebok CrossFit One. The 5,000 square-foot facility (surrounded by playing fields and outdoor space) offers a broad range of programs for all fitness levels and holds group workouts 5 times a day. Since January, the program has grown from a group of less than 20 to about 350 Reebok employees, ranging from upper management to interns and everyone in between. Beyond providing a platform for health and fitness, CrossFit produces a great sense of community among its participants. For more information on CrossFit, visit www.crossfit.com.
